  09 Sep 2026, Chennai:  A social media post by Andaman Nicobar Democratic Congress (ANDC) leader Manoj Paul has sparked discussion about educational exposure and career aspirations among children in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In a video shared by Paul, he is seen travelling in an autorickshaw in Chennai and interacting with two young passengers. When asked about their future aspirations, one child, who says he is studying in Class 9 , says he wants to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) . Another child, identified in the post as Mukundan , says he wants to become an aerospace engineer . Paul appreciates the children for having what he describes as a clear vision for their future. Mallik says students from North and Middle Andaman face difficulties travelling to Port Blair to pursue BBA 03 Sep 2026, Sri Vijayapuram: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Andaman & Nicobar Islands State President Dr Arun Kumar Mallik has requested the Andaman & Nicobar Administration to introduce a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree course at Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC), Mayabunder , from the 2027–28 academic session . In a letter dated 3 September 2026 addressed to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education/Sports) of the A&N Administration, Mallik said the proposal was aimed particularly at students from North and Middle Andaman District who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in business administration. Sri Vijaya Puram | 11 August 2026 The Andaman & Nicobar Islands unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has submitted a six-page memorandum to Vice-President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha C. P. Radhakrishnan , seeking intervention on higher education, youth opportunities and long-term development in the Islands. The memorandum, dated 8 August 2026 , places the establishment of a full-fledged Central University in the Union Territory among its principal demands. According to ABVP, geographical isolation limits access for students to specialised higher education, advanced research facilities, professional courses and employment opportunities. The organisation has proposed an island-specific higher-education model connecting education and research with employment, healthcare, tourism, the blue economy , environmental studies and strategic development.
